German Soprano Tanja Christine Kuhn started this year as Senta in "The Flying Dutchman" at the

Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, conducted by Nikša Bareza.

She had been singing this role on several theatres before like the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari with Giampaolo Bisanti conducting, Theatre Hof and Staatstheater Cottbus where she sings this role, currently.

Last season at the Danish National Opera, she sang Micaela in „Carmen“, Katja in the Scandinavian premiere of "The Passenger“ by Weinberg and Charmion in August Enna‘s "Cleopatra". There she worked with stagedirectors like Thaddeus Strassberger, Ben Baur and Philipp Kochheim and conductors like Jerome Pillement, Jonas Alber, Joachin Gustafsson and Tecwyn Evans.

Here she also had her debut in the challenging role of Heloise in the celebrated Premiere of "Michael Kohlhaas", which will appear on CD later in the year.

This Season, she made a hugely succesful return to the Danish National Opera as Tatjana in „Eugene Onegin“ staged by Hinrich Hostkotte, conducted by Tecwyn Evans.

In December, she will debut as The Woman the orchestra version of Poulencs big solo opera

"La Voix Humaine" at Theatre Giessen, conducted by Florian Ludwig, staged by Wolfgang Hofmann.

Various concerts in Germany, Denmark, Italy and Luxembourg will follow.

 

2017/2018 Ms. Kuhn debuted at the Staatstheater Braunschweig as Giulietta in Zandonai’s „Giulietta e Romeo“, conducted by Florian Ludwig which earned her critical praises.

Conducted by Giampaolo Bisanti, she sang Mahler‘s 2nd in Bari and Gloria per Soprano by Poulenc, at the Teatro lirico di Cagliari,

Returning to Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, she sang the title role in Hindemith‘s

"Sancta Susanna", conducted by Marco Angius.

For Gianfranco Gabbidu's extreme staging of Sancta Susanna, she was often a guest on Italian television.

In 2011, while still at the conservatory, she made her professional debut at the Schwetzingen Winter Festival, singing the lead role in the German premiere of Scarlatti’s „Marco Attilio Regolo“, conducted by Ruben Dubrovsky.

Her debut was so successful that music director Cornelius Meister hired her for additional engagements at Theater Heidelberg. Here she was under the baton of Maestra Joana Mallwitz in Verdis "Aida".

Since then, Ms. Kuhn has appeared at several international teatres.

Staatsoper Hannover, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Croatioan National Theatre Zagreb, The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen and others.

In 2015, she was heard as Blumenmädchen in Parsifal for Children at the

Bayreuth Festival.

 

Tanja Christine Kuhn was born in Heidelberg.

She successfully completed her MA in 2015, at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.

She participated in master classes with Lynne Dawson, Raina Kabaivanska, Karan Armstrong, Matias Tosi, Scott Curry and Angelo Raciti.

Currently, she works with Malcolm Walker.

Tanja Christine Kuhn holds a scholarship of the Richard Wagner assosiation.
